1er Yarra Valley Chardonnay

Hoddles Creek Estate 1er Yarra Valley Chardonnay is from a single east facing block of the estate's Top Paddock Vineyard in the Upper Yarra Valley, next to the winery.

The fruit is chilled, destemmed without crushing, and pressed to tank. It is left to settle clear for several days then fermented with cultured and natural yeasts. It remains in cask for 12 months with occasional stirring.

The wine then settles in a stainless steel tank over winter. Racked clean, it is bottled without filtration, fining or stabilization. The only addition is a small amount of sulphur.

Bright straw, Hoddles Creek Estate 1er Yarra Valley Chardonnay has citrus drive, melon and stone fruit character and crystalline acidity. Cellaring potential is eight years.
