Winery
Established by Ian and June Marks in 1983, Gembrook Hill led the second wave of Yarra Valley vignerons. Today it is one of the Upper Yarra's oldest vineyards. Their son Andrew is now both viticulturalist and chief winemaker.
With picturesque views of Mount Donna Buang and the Warburton Ranges, Gembrook Hill is perfect for cool climate winemaking. The vineyard is unirrigated, planted in red volcanic loams in a hilly amphitheatre, and has a coveted north-easterly aspect. Of the belief that wine is made in the vineyard, Gembrook Hill craft their wines with an Old World mindset and minimal handling, trusting the Yarra Valley's elegant flavours will shine through.
Gembrook Hill's lead wines are the limited release IJM and JKM Pinot Noirs named in honour of the winery's founders. Also notable are their Blanc de Blancs, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
