I.J.M. Pinot Noir
Wine
Gembrook Hill I.J.M. Pinot Noir honours winery co-founder Ian James Marks, who passed away suddenly during the 2017 vintage. The wine is only made in tiny batches.
The fruit is a blend of the oldest and newest Pinot Noir vines on Gembrook Hill's Upper Yarra property. At its core the wine is an expression of site, so the hand of the winemaker is gentle.
The grapes are destemmed and open fermented. After maturing in old French oak, the wine is bottled and aged for a further 18 months before release.
Light red purple, Gembrook Hill I.J.M. Pinot Noir is fresh, fragrant and intense with fine tannins and a long finish. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
