Winery
In 1843, Steve Wiblin's English forebear John Wiblin gazed into a pair of Erin eyes and changed their family history forever. In 2009, when Steve founded his winery in the Irish influenced Clare Valley, it seemed fitting to name it Erin Eyes.
Erin Eyes sources fruit from growers across the Clare Valley. The warm, dry summer days minimize disease, while the cool nights keep the average temperature down. Winter rains and moisture grasping clays, over good draining limestone or slate, make for minimal watering and provide ideal growing conditions. The winery plays to the region's strengths, focusing on dry Rieslings with ample citrus flavours and bold yet elegant red wines.
Most Erin Eyes wines are named after Ireland and its culture. Their lead wine is the Pride of Erin Reserve Riesling. Other notable wines are the Blarney Stone Shiraz, Ballycapple Cabernet Sauvignon and Emerald Isle Riesling.
