Winery
Having worked at De Bortoli and Moorooduc Estate, as well as in Italy, California and France, Allies Wines co-founder Barnaby Flanders established his own Garagiste label on the Mornington Peninsula in 2006.
Garagiste produce small batch wines focussing on the Mornington Peninsula's renowned varieties, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The winery seeks to highlight the subtleties of the region's different soil types and microclimates, exemplified in their single site Garagiste range. Their Merricks Chardonnay, for example, is sourced from the grey sandy loam soils of the high altitude Merricks Grove Vineyard and provides a more tensile, mineral noted wine than their earlier picked Tuerong Chardonnay.
Garagiste’s leading single vineyard wines are the intriguing Terre de Feu Pinot Noir and Terre Maritime Chardonnay. The Le Stagiaire range is sourced from different Mornington Peninsula vineyards.
