Wine
Garagiste Le Stagiaire Chardonnay is named after the French word meaning 'the apprentice'.
Unlike Garagiste's other wines, which are single vineyard, Le Stagiaire Chardonnay is sourced from vineyards at Balnarring, Tuerong and Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula.
The grapes are hand sorted in both the vineyard and the winery. Those that make the grade are whole bunch pressed and the juice transferred to new and seasoned French oak for wild fermentation.
The wine remains on lees in oak for nine months throughout the ageing process.
Straw yellow, Garagiste Le Stagiaire Chardonnay has vibrant, crisp acidity with fresh citrus and stone fruit flavours. Cellaring potential is five years.
