In 1921 Cesare Credaro emigrated from Italy to Margaret River. Acquiring a property in Carbunup soon after, the Credaro family made wine for personal use before planting their first commercial vineyard in 1988.
Credaro source fruit from vineyards scattered across Margaret River, including the Carbunup, Yallingup and Wilyabrup districts. Their original Woolston Vineyard in Carbunup is home to their Shiraz, as well as their oldest Cabernet and Chardonnay vines. The winery also grows Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot, as well as small plantings of Gewürztraminer and Fragola, an Italian red variety they first cultivated in the 1930s.
Credaro's 1000 Crowns range leads, taking its name from the amount originally paid by the Credaro family for their Carbunup property. Kinship range follows.
