With a background in Adelaide Hills winemaking, Andre Bondar and wife Selina Kelly in 2013 purchased the Rayner Vineyard in the Blewitt Springs district of McLaren Vale, finding a home for their Bondar brand.

The historic Rayner Vineyard is set amongst two hills on the border of Blewitt Springs and Seaview, north of the McLaren Vale township. Its oldest plantings date back to the 1950s, comprising what the region does best: Shiraz and Grenache. The site is divided between sandy soils in the east and clay loam over limestone in the west. Bondar also select fruit from growers in McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills.

Bondar's signature style is light, fragrant and savoury. Their top wines are the Rayner Vineyard Shiraz and Grenache as well as the Midnight Hour Shiraz, which draws from the Rayner Vineyard's oldest vines.
