Winery
In 2001 Kym Teusner and Mick Page rescued 85 year old Grenache vines after overhearing grape growers at the pub plan to remove them. The following year, Kym and Mick used the vines to make Teusner's first release.
For Teusner, the relationship they build with their growers is everything. It gives them access to fruit from ancient Barossa vines, some over 100 years old and some farmed by the same family for generations. In the winery, they crush the grapes one picking bin at a time, keeping a close watch to ensure the wine develops strong colour, aroma and structure. Teusner's gentle approach to oak lets the fruit take centre stage.
Teusner bottles tiny quantities of the best single vineyard varieties under the Righteous label. They produce their core range of wines to be eminently drinkable now and for the next 5-8 years.
