Winery
Established in 2010, Woods Crampton was originally a yearly diversion from the normal lives of label designer Aaron Woods and marketer Nicholas Crampton. It quickly became their full time obsession.
Woods Crampton source fruit from Barossa and Eden Valley vineyards. They focus in particular on Shiraz and Riesling, and to a lesser extent Cabernet Sauvignon, Mataro and alternative varieties. Practising minimal intervention, the ambition is to create unforced wines that tell the story of their vineyards, a world away from the jammy fruit bombs of the past. Woods Crampton produce their wines at the Sons of Eden winery.
They make a ladder of old vine Shiraz, notably Michael John Barossa Valley Shiraz, Frances & Nicole Eden Valley Shiraz and Phillip Patrick Eden Valley Shiraz. The Black Label single varietals follow.
