Black Label Eden Valley Shiraz
Wine
Woods Crampton Black Label Eden Valley Shiraz is made with handpicked fruit grown at Cranford, south of the Eden Valley township. The vines are low yielding and dry grown.
The fruit is chilled overnight then cold soaked. Slow, temperature controlled fermentation follows, with nearly a quarter of the grapes included as whole bunches.
The wine is pressed in a gentle, old pneumatic press and racked to small French oak barrels, both new and seasoned. During 18 months of maturation, the barrels are topped up every six weeks but are not racked or stirred.
The wine is only minimally filtered and sulphured prior to bottling.
Deep violet, Woods Crampton Black Label Eden Valley Shiraz is medium to full bodied with dark berry flavours, silky tannins and a bright finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
