Tim Smith Wines was born in a light bulb moment drinking a Condrieu, while touring France's Rhône Valley. With many years of making wine for others behind him, Tim Smith established his own label in 2001.

Tim Smith is unashamedly influenced by the great producers of the Rhône Valley, yet has healthy respect for the Barossa style. He sources fruit from individual pockets of Barossa Valley old vine vineyards. His focus is on the region's proven varietals Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro. He also selects Riesling and Viognier from the cooler Eden Valley nearby. He makes wine in small batches at his shed on Light Pass Road at Vine Vale.

Tim Smith Wines' lead wine is its Reserve Barossa Shiraz. The Barossa Shiraz, Mataro and Mataro Grenache Shiraz round out the Barossa wines. The Eden Valley Riesling and Viognier lead the whites.
