At the Winery
Winery
Fresh from the goldfields George Francis Morris established Morris at Fairfield near Rutherglen in 1859. David Morris became the family's fifth generation winemaker in 1993. Casella Family Brands acquired Morris in 2016.
Down an unremarkable driveway flanked by vineyards, Morris is a small winery famous for producing some of the world's finest fortified wines. Made by the complex blending of older and younger wines, David Morris remains faithful to the traditional approach passed down by his father Mick Morris. At the heart of the winery is an atrium style cellar door designed by architect Robyn Boyd. It offers a close up view of the century old storage casks and famous dirt floors.
The Morris Old Premium wines stand alongside the acclaimed classics from Chambers Rosewood at the pinnacle of Australian fortified winemaking. In special years Morris makes a CHM Muscat, named in honour of Charles Henry (Mick) Morris.
