Old Premium Rare Muscat

Morris Old Premium Rare Muscat is an outstanding example of Rutherglen fortified Muscat, a wine style unique to Australia. It is made from Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains from estate vineyards.

The fruit spends considerable time hanging on the vine, developing the high sugar levels and intense flavours necessary for the style. After harvest, the grapes are crushed to begin fermentation.

Once the desired sugar and alcohol level is reached, the wine is pressed and fortified with a strong neutral spirit, preventing further fermentation. It is transferred to oak casks to age.

Classified Rare – the highest tier of the official Rutherglen Winemakers' Classification – the wine blends the best wines from the best vintages, balancing very old and much younger wines. Their average age is at least 20 years.

Dark olive brown, Morris Old Premium Rare Muscat has great depth, length and complexity. It is rich and luscious, layered with sweet spice and dried raisin flavours.

Already fully matured, it is bottled for immediate enjoyment.
