Brian Croser founded Petaluma in 1976 by carefully selecting vineyards in regions ideally suited to specific varieties. When Accolade Wines purchased Petaluma in 2017 they continued what Croser had begun, focusing on select vineyard sites.
Petaluma adhere to the tenet that great wine is made in the vineyard. They pioneered the development of Adelaide Hills viticulture. At Petaluma, Brian Croser developed his 'distinguished site' philosophy, establishing the Piccadilly Valley in the Adelaide Hills, Hanlin Hill in the Clare Valley and Evans Vineyard in Coonawarra. While traditional methods still prevail at the winery, Petaluma's Project Co. series has been developed to trial innovation in limited release wines.
Petaluma's flagship single vineyard wines, branded in the Yellow Label range, are led by Tiers Chardonnay. Petaluma also offers the more affordable White Label wines and the Croser range of méthode traditionnelle sparkling wines.
