Established in 2011 Bicknell fc is the family project of Dave Bicknell and Nicky Harris. Both have distinguished careers, as respectively winemaker for Oakridge and viticulturist at Henschke, Seppelt and Coldstream Hills.

The Bicknells lease Val Stewart's close planted vineyard at the top of Prices Road at Gladysdale. With deep red soils and high rainfall it is one of the highest and coolest vineyards in the Yarra Valley. It produces fragrant medium bodied wines with line and length. The grapes are handpicked and sorted then whole bunch pressed into older French oak. The winemaking follows minimal intervention principles.

Bicknell fc focuses exclusively on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir released under the Applecross label. With small production, and each vintage the next step on from its predecessor, they are a sought after boutique brand.
