Winery

In 2009 Sue Bell left corporate winemaking to establish her own winery, purchasing the historic 1868 Glen Roy Woolshed in Coonawarra. She named it Bellwether, a fitting cross of her name and the building's sheep shearing heritage.

Bellwether is a boutique winery, produce garden and campground. Coonawarra and its signature variety Cabernet Sauvignon is are the backbone of Bellwether, however Sue Bell also sources from other regions and other varieties. She partners with growers who prioritize finding natural balance in the vineyard. At harvest, after a painstaking selection process, the grapes are handpicked. In the winery Bellwether make small parcels by traditional methods with minimal input.

Bellwether's lead wine is Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon; their Tamar Valley Chardonnay and Wrattonbully Shiraz follow. At the next tier the Ant Series features a Shiraz Malbec and Tempranillo.
