Charlie and Samantha Baillieu established Baillieu Vineyard in 1999 on their Bulldog Run property on the gentle slopes of Merricks North on the Mornington Peninsula. The refurbished Merricks General Store is their cellar door.
The picturesque property has been regenerated to provide perfect conditions for the vines and ideal ripening conditions for the grapes. The vineyard is sited in well draining, deep loamy soil with a north facing aspect that captures valuable sunshine. Nurtured by a cool climate and surrounded by protective bushland, the vines produce deeply coloured, soft red wines and fresh, perfumed white wines. All their wines are exclusively estate grown.
Baillieu Vineyard's wines have clear, clean varietal flavour. The range includes Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Chardonnay and Viognier. They also produce Pinot Gris, Rosé and Sparkling Brut.
