At the Winery
Winery
In 1932 Croatian immigrant Jim Talijancich purchased a Swan Valley vineyard and established Talijancich. Today the winery is in the hands of the family's third generation, James Talijancich and wife Hilda.
Situated in the heart of the Swan Valley, Talijancich is one of the few remaining wineries to work solely with Swan Valley fruit. Most is grown on their estate vineyard, the first in Western Australia to receive biodynamic certification. They source Pedro Ximénes from a nearby vineyard planted in 1900: a partnership that Talijancich has maintained since the 1950s. Their fortified wines are made using the Solera system, blending the finest aged vintages.
Like the Swan Valley itself, Talijancich is known for its fortified wines. Their Pedro Ximénes Liqueur is renowned, as is their 30 Year Old Rare Tawny and the Julian James range.
