At the Winery
Winery
In 1998 Graeme and Ann Shaw established Shaw Wines on a historic wool farm in Murrumbateman. Today the winery is still a family affair: son Michael is the viticulturalist and daughter Tanya manages the cellar door.
Located just outside Canberra, the property is in a prime location. With a sloping vineyard site, it sits at 640 metres elevation, its soils and cool microclimate making it well suited for Cabernet Sauvignon. Shaw Wines also grow Riesling, Semillon, Merlot and Shiraz in what is one of the largest vineyards in the region.
The Reserve label represents the best of Shaw Wines. The Merriman Cabernet Sauvignon and Isabella Riesling lead the way. The Estate range, where the winery has won most of its following, is not far behind.
