Winery
Tony and Lita Brady established Wendouree in the Clare Valley in 1974. Famous for the quality of their wines, shunning media attention and producing tiny quantities, Wendouree has a cult like status among Australian wineries.
Protectors of their wine inheritance, they source their fruit from dry grown vines that date back to the 1890s. Their stone winery, built in 1914, contains most of its original equipment. With open top fermenters and open vats Wendouree winemaking is artisan in style. Wendouree is dedicated to red varieties. The wines, made to reflect the terrain and climatic conditions of the vintage, are all grown, produced and bottled on site.
Wendouree Shiraz leads the range. They also produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Mataro and blend them with Shiraz. Wendouree sells their wine exclusively through mail order. The wines are celebrated for their longevity.
