In 1963 Mount Langi Ghiran's first vines were planted beneath the cliff face of the winery's namesake. Trevor and Sandra Mast purchased the winery in 1987, developing the Langi Shiraz. The Rathbone family acquired the property in 2002.

Mount Langi Ghiran is one of Australia's unique sites. With cold prevailing winds coming from the Southern Ocean, it sits in a remote corner of the Grampians formed by the Great Dividing Range. Trevor Mast's vision for a cool climate Shiraz arose before cool climate was in vogue. The change of ownership in 2002 has seen a generational shift. Innovation and a contemporary approach to wine science are the focus.

Mount Langi Ghiran's flagship is Langi Shiraz, today regarded as one of Australia's finest wines. Mast Shiraz honours the contribution of Trevor Mast. The Talus range is not far behind, while the Cliff Edge range is quality at an affordable price.
