Meerea Park traces their Hunter Valley roots back to the 1850s when Alexander Munro established the Bebeah Vineyard at Singleton. Munro's great-great-grandsons Rhys and Garth Eather launched the Meerea Park label in 1991.
Meerea Park specialize in single vineyard Semillon and Shiraz but also produce Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet and a selection of alternative varieties. They draw from unique sites varying in climate and terrain, in particular seeking out older Hunter Valley vineyards for their premium wines. Winemaker Rhys Eather's approach is informed by vintages in the Rhône Valley in France and Puglia and Piedmonte in Italy.
Meerea Park's Black Shiraz, originally intended to be a one-off commemorative release, is their finest. The Alexander Munro range, and especially the Aged Release Shiraz and Semillon, follows on behind.
