Terracotta Semillon
Wine
Meerea Park Terracotta Semillon is sourced from a block high on the Kindred family's Lochleven Vineyard at Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley.
The wine is named for the soils on which the fruit is grown. The terracotta soils – red basalt clay – are renowned for their low fertility, reducing yields but concentrating the flavours in the grapes.
A small parcel of fruit is handpicked early and is fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine sees no oak prior to bottling. After resting in the cellar for a minimum of four years, it is released.
Pale straw, Meerea Park Terracotta Semillon is minerally, tight and focused with citrus zest flavours and subtle toasty complexity. Cellaring potential is 10 years
