Wine tourism industry pioneer Sir Peter Derham established Red Hill Estate in 1989, when the Mornington Peninsula region was still in its infancy. Today the winery is owned and run by the Fabrizio family.
With panoramic views across Mornington Peninsula, Red Hill Estate owe more to their location than just the views of Westernport Bay. The region's cool, maritime climate mixes with volcanic and sedimentary soils to create wines that are textured, complex and elegant. As well as their original Shoreham Road site at Red Hill South, the winery also sources fruit from their Merricks Grove Vineyard, planted in 1998.
Red Hill Estate focus on Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, which excel in the Mornington Peninsula's cool conditions. The Single Vineyard range leads, followed by the Merricks Grove range.
