At the Winery
Winery
Established in 1974 by Dr Andrew Pirie, Pipers Brook is recognized as a pioneer of the Tasmanian wine industry. Owned by Kreglinger Australia since 2001, today the winery is a premium producer of cool climate wines.
Pipers Brook has vineyards along Tasmania's north coast, including a cool site near Pipers River and a warmer site further inland at Strathlynn, on the west bank of the Tamar River. The sites were selected for their similarity to premium wine regions in France, yet their unique geography, temperate climate and proximity to Bass Strait produce flavours that are purely Tasmanian. At Pipers Brook all wines are estate grown and bottled.
Pipers Brook produce hallmark Tasmanian varieties including Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Gewürztraminer. Their signature Vintage Cuvée Sparkling is made in the traditional French Champagne method.
