Wine
Chris Ringland Barossa Ranges Shiraz grows in a 1910 planted vineyard in the Flaxman Valley. In 1994 Chris Ringland purchased the site, which had fallen into neglect, and brought it back to life.
The wine from this vineyard was first bottled under the name Three Rivers. In the 1990s American critic Robert Parker named it Australia's greatest Shiraz. Chris Ringland's reputation was made.
The destemmed grapes batch ferment in an open top French oak vat. After basket pressing the wine is sent to new French oak hogsheads for 48 months. After bottling, it ages a further 36 months before release.
Opaque red, Chris Ringland Barossa Ranges Shiraz is opulent with concentrated dark fruit flavours and bright acidity. Mouth filling tannins lead to a long, persistent finish.
A great Barossa Shiraz. Cellaring potential is 25 years.
