Wine
Best's Riesling is grown on the sandy loam soils of the estate Concongella Creek and Rhymney Vineyards, occasionally supplemented with fruit from selected local growers.
First planted by Henry Best in the 1860s, there is significant pedigree in Best's rootstock. Some of the original nursery plantings can be traced back to Germany in the 1800s.
Great Western has warm days and cool nights which promote natural acidity. The wine is cold fermented in stainless steel, retaining the fruit's inherent aromatics and acidity.
Straw green, Best's Riesling has citrus fruit flavours, balance and a steely acidity. It is spectacularly age worthy. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
