Remus Old Vine Shiraz
Wine
Sons of Eden Remus Old Vine Shiraz is made with fruit handpicked from sustainably managed vineyards across the Eden Valley. To qualify for the Remus blend, the vines must be over 50 years of age.
Remus Old Vine Shiraz and its brother Romulus Old Vine Shiraz (from the Barossa Valley) are named after the legendary founders of Rome. In the fable, Remus is the more refined and focused; his namesake displays classic Eden Valley elegance.
The fruit is destemmed and crushed to small open top fermenters, with a portion of whole clusters added. Cold soaking allows the ferment to begin slowly while daily hand plunging prolongs it, gently extracting flavours.
After an extended period resting on skins, the wine is pressed to half new French oak hogsheads for 22 months of maturation. It is then naturally clarified and bottled without filtration.
Deep garnet, Sons of Eden Remus Old Vine Shiraz is concentrated and well structured, silky on the finish with hallmark Eden Valley refinement. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
