Wine

Scorpo Wines Noirien Pinot Noir is made from handpicked MV6 clone grapes grown at Merricks North. The name Noirien comes from the Burgundian synonym for Pinot Noir.

Most of the fruit is destemmed with around 10% left as whole bunches for pre-ferment cold soaking. Spontaneous wild yeast fermentation occurs in open vats with the cap of grape skins plunged as required.

The wine is then pressed for 12 months of maturation, typically in seasoned French oak with a small new oak component.

Vibrant cherry red, Scorpo Wines Noirien Pinot Noir is an earthy, savoury wine with dark stone fruit flavours and silky tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
