Wine

Scorpo Wines Estate Pinot Noir is made with MV6 and Abel clone grapes sourced from the winery's Merricks North vineyard, which began as an overgrown orchard.

The fruit is handpicked and predominantly destemmed, with a small portion left as whole clusters. It is cold soaked prior to natural yeast fermentation in stainless steel open vats. The cap of grape skins is plunged as required.

After pressing, the wine is transferred to a selection of tight grained French oak barrels, 20% new and the remainder 1-3 years old. It matures for 12-18 months prior to bottling.

Cherry red, Scorpo Wines Estate Pinot Noir has spicy red fruit flavours with a savoury lilt and fine, silky tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
