Wine
Poacher's Ridge Merlot draws from the estate vineyard at Narrikup, just outside Mount Barker in the Great Southern region. The grapes are handpicked.
The fruit is crushed into small open fermenters. Each parcel is plunged by hand 3-4 times daily during fermentation to gently extract tannins. Post ferment, the wine is run into French oak barrels to age for 15 months. It is fined and filtered prior to bottling.
Ruby red, Poacher's Ridge Merlot has plum flavours with fine tannins, cedary oak and balanced acidity providing length. Cellaring potential is five years.
