Wine
Narkoojee Valerie Shiraz, named after winery co-founder Valerie Friend, is only made in exceptional years. It is made in small quantities with hand harvested fruit.
The grapes are crushed and fermented with wild yeasts, in smaller vessels where possible to allow hand plunging rather than pumping over. Post ferment, the wine is pressed and racked to new French oak barrels.
After around 18-24 months of maturation, 2-3 of the best barrels are chosen to comprise the final blend – if the quality allows.
Deep plum red, Narkoojee Valerie Shiraz has dark fruit flavours with cedary oak, fine tannins and acidity in perfect balance. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
