Valerie Pinot Noir
Wine
Narkoojee Valerie Pinot Noir, named after winery co-founder Valerie Friend, is only made in exceptional years. It is made in small quantities with hand harvested fruit.
The grapes are crushed and fermented with wild yeasts, in smaller vessels where possible to allow hand plunging rather than pumping over. Post ferment, the wine is pressed and racked to new French oak barrels.
After around 12 months of maturation, 2-3 of the best barrels are chosen to comprise the final blend – if the quality allows.
Dark cherry red, Narkoojee Valerie Pinot Noir has great intensity and length of flavour with forest floor complexity and spicy oak. Cellaring potential is seven years.
