Hoffman Vineyard Shiraz
Wine
Chris Ringland Hoffman Vineyard Shiraz is made in collaboration with Adrian Hoffman. From his family's Dimchurch Vineyard Adrian Hoffman selects the fruit.
The vineyard is at Ebenezer in the northern Barossa on red brown earth over limestone. Adrian Hoffman, underpinned by generations of Hoffmann family grape growing knowledge, determines the viticulture.
Typically, just a few small parcels of fruit are delivered to the winery.
The grapes are destemmed and small batch fermented in open top fermenters. The wine is basket pressed to wholly new French oak to complete fermentation. It matures in barrel for five years.
Chris Ringland governs the winemaking. The wine is the result of a rigorous barrel section process. At bottling there is no filtration or fining. The wine spends a further year in bottle before release.
Opaque crimson red, Chris Ringland Hoffman Vineyard Shiraz has rich, powerful fruit flavours, soft tannins and subtle acidity. A true iron fist in a velvet glove.
Made in very limited quantities. Cellaring potential is 20 years.
