Wine
Wynns Coonawarra Estate John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon honours visionary pioneer John Riddoch. In 1891, he planted Coonawarra's first vines and built Wynns famous triple gabled winery.
First made in 1982, John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon is the Wynns flagship. It is only made in years when grapes of extraordinarily high quality are available, using less than 1% of the winery's top Cabernet: the best of the best.
The fruit is grown on extensive Cabernet Sauvignon plantings in Coonawarra's terra rossa soil. After fermentation, the wine typically matures for 16 months in one third new French oak.
Intense red black, Wynns Coonawarra Estate John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon has a fine tannin line framing powerful cassis flavours, with subtle French oak. It finishes spicy and persistent.
A definitive Coonawarra Cabernet. Cellaring potential is 20 years.
