Woodhenge Shiraz

Wirra Wirra Woodhenge Shiraz is drawn from exceptional Shiraz vineyards across McLaren Vale. It takes its name from the fence built from threaded red gum trunks which surrounds the Wirra Wirra site.

The grapes are gently crushed and destemmed to open top and static fermenters. Individual parcels are kept separate to maintain their unique vineyard characters.

Each batch is tasted twice daily to determine the precise level of hand plunging and pump overs required. Once pressed and sugar dry, the wine is run to French and American oak for malolactic fermentation.

Following 18 months of maturation, during which the wine is racked and returned, only the most outstanding barrels are blended. The wine is filtered prior to bottling.

Deep crimson, Wirra Wirra Woodhenge Shiraz is a classic McLaren Vale Shiraz. It has a core of deep dark fruits framed by sandy tannins and notes of spicy oak. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
