Isabella Chardonnay
Wine
Wantirna Estate Isabella Chardonnay draws from 1970s plantings on a gentle east facing slope which receives early morning and late afternoon sunshine. The grapes are hand harvested at first light.
Whole bunches are destemmed and air bag pressed. The juice is then chilled, settled and inoculated with yeast for fermentation, before being transferred to new and seasoned French oak in a cool underground cellar.
The wine is then left to age on its yeast lees. After 11 months it is fined and run to bottle.
Bright yellow, Wantirna Estate Isabella Chardonnay's trademark is its elegance, forward fruit taste and succulent yet tight finish. Cellaring potential is five years.
