Hannah Cabernet Franc Merlot
Wine
Wantirna Estate Hannah Cabernet Franc Merlot, first made in 1999, is inspired by the wines of St Emilion in south-western France. An equal blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, only a single barrel (288 bottles) is made each year.
Destemmed grapes are fermented in open concrete fermenters using cultured yeast, with hand plunging and gentle pump overs. The wine matures for 12 months in a new Burgundy coopered barrique before ageing a further 15 months in bottle.
Deep crimson, Wantirna Estate Hannah Cabernet Franc Merlot is light to medium bodied, fragrant, and elegantly weighted. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
