Shotfire Barossa Shiraz
Wine
Thorn-Clarke Shotfire Barossa Shiraz is made with premium grape parcels sourced from the winery's vineyards in the Barossa and Eden Valleys.
The grapes are destemmed for fermentation. The ferments, kept relatively cool at 22-25°C, are pumped over twice daily to maximize colour, tannin and flavour extraction.
After around seven days on skins the wine is pressed and filled to 40% new American oak barrels, the remainder second and third fill. The wine matures for 14 months before it is prepared for bottling.
Deep red purple, Thorn-Clarke Shotfire Barossa Shiraz has dark fruit flavours and savoury oak tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
