Kiss Shiraz
Wine
Thomas Wines Kiss Shiraz, first produced in 2001, is the winery's flagship single vineyard Shiraz. It expresses the very best qualities of each vintage.
The fruit is grown on the tough clay loam soils of the winery's Pokolbin estate vineyard, planted in 1969. The naturally low cropping vines consistently produce fruit with exceptional depth and concentration.
The grapes are cold soaked for 48 hours and fermented on skins. The wine matures for 16 months in premium French oak barrels, typically 30% new. After bottling, it is cellared for a further 10 months prior to release.
Dark purple, Thomas Wines Kiss Shiraz has concentrated dark fruit flavours, savoury spices and long, satiny tannins around a medium bodied frame.
It has become a modern benchmark for Hunter Valley Shiraz. Cellaring potential is 20 years.
