Wine

Pepper Tree Coquun Hunter Valley Shiraz is sourced from the Tallawanta Vineyard planted in the 1920s. Coquun is the first name for the area in the local Aboriginal language.

The vineyard's soil is typical of the Hunter Valley, a mixture of sandy loam and red volcanic clay. The vines are dry grown, ensuring low yields. They produce tiny quantities of intensely flavoured fruit.

The fruit is destemmed and fermented in tank with cultured yeast. Pressed off skins it is transferred to French oak to age for 18 months. Only the best barrels are selected for the final blend.

Inky garnet, Pepper Tree Coquun Hunter Valley Shiraz is elegant and fruit driven with refined tannins, integrated oak and a lasting finish. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
