Reserve Shiraz
Wine
Noon Winery Reserve Shiraz is made from the 20 Rows Block of the Borrett family vineyards. The vines were planted in 1962 on the Bremer River flood plain.
Located at Langhorne Creek the vineyard is planted on deep alluvial clay loam. A series of channels has been directing flood water across local vineyards since the mid-1800s.
The fruit is handpicked from low yielding vines grown on their own roots. Fermentation occurs in small open vats, hand plunged to extract colour and tannins.
The wine is gently pressed by hand with a small manual basket press. Care is taken to minimize the astringency caused by rough handling and over pressing.
Maturation is for 18 months in one third new French and American oak barrels. The wine is bottled on the property.
Deep red, Noon Winery Reserve Shiraz is opulent and generously flavoured, with gentle texture and persistent, firm tannins on the finish.
Produced only in the finest vintages. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
