Wine
Majella The Malleea Cabernet Shiraz, produced only when growing conditions are perfect, continues the Australian tradition of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz blends.
It takes its name from a local Indigenous word meaning 'green paddock'. It aptly describes the lush pastures and vineyards of the Limestone Coast in south-eastern South Australia, where the Coonawarra winery is located.
The finest parcels of old vine fruit begin fermentation in small static fermenters. After five days, they are transferred to new French oak barrels to finish the process.
The wine is aged for a further 18 months. Individual barrels that meet exceptional quality benchmarks are then selected and blended to become The Malleea.
Dark magenta, Majella The Malleea Cabernet Shiraz has layered dark fruits with spicy undertones, subtle oak and a fine tannin finish. Cellaring potential is 20 years.
