Orphan Bank Shiraz
Wine
Langmeil Orphan Bank Shiraz is made from 10 rows of orphaned vines, all originally planted before 1860.
In 2006 the vines were saved from the developer's bulldozer and replanted one by one on the banks of the Para River beside Langmeil's original vineyard.
Orphan Bank is a testament to Langmeil's commitment to preserving old Barossa vineyards. The Lindner family's vision for the winery is to highlight the rare qualities of old vine Shiraz.
Gentle destemming, open fermentation and basket pressing accentuate the natural fruit. The wine matures for 24 months in new and seasoned French oak.
Deep purple red, Langmeil Orphan Bank Shiraz has juicy fruit flavours, spicy oak sweetness and fine textured tannins. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
