Wine

Head Wines The Redhead Shiraz is grown in an old vine vineyard atop Mengler's Hill in the Barossa Ranges. It is one of a trio which get their 'hair colour' from the soils of their respective vineyards.

The vineyard is a mix of shallow sandy loam, limestone and ironstone over orange clay and rose quartz – redhead in colour.

The fruit wild ferments in open stainless steel tanks for two weeks with one third whole bunches and some stem retention. Hand plunging and pump overs are twice daily.

It is matured on fine lees in new and seasoned French oak barrels for 24 months, then bottled without fining or filtration.

Deep dark red, Head Wines The Redhead Shiraz has red and black fruit flavours, refined acidity and lithe tannins. Barossa Shiraz at its finest.

A limited production of numbered bottles. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
