Alices Shiraz
Wine
Greenock Creek Alices Shiraz is sourced from a 1997 planted vineyard, the largest on the winery's Radford Road property in the Barossa Valley. The grapes are handpicked.
Destemmed but not crushed, the fruit ferments in shallow open fermenters with several pump overs. The chilled juice is then basket pressed, keeping the free run and pressings separate.
The wine is racked to mostly seasoned American oak hogsheads for malolactic fermentation and maturation. After 27 months it is blended and bottled without fining or filtration.
Cranberry red, Greenock Creek Alices Shiraz is aromatic and spicy, with abundant fruit flavours and a mild, oaky finish. Cellaring potential is eight years.
