Pinot Noir
Wine
Dawson James Pinot Noir is grown in the Meadowbank Vineyard in the upper Derwent Valley in southern Tasmania. It is a blend of MV6 and Pommard clone Pinot Noir, planted in 1989.
Half the grapes are whole bunch fermented, the rest destemmed and crushed on top. After basket pressing the wine is transferred to French oak for malolactic fermentation and ageing over 12 months.
Vivid ruby red, Dawson James Pinot Noir has forest fruit flavours, beautifully balanced acidity and a succulent finish. Cellaring potential is seven years.
