The Athazagoraphobic Cat
Wine
d'Arenberg The Athazagoraphobic Cat is named after Audrey Hepburn, winemaker Chester Osborn's tabby cat who suffers from athazagoraphobia, better known as the fear of being forgotten.
Typically 95% Sagrantino and 5% Cinsault, the fruit is gently crushed and open fermented. At basket pressing, the free run juice and pressings are separated, with only the Sagrantino pressings used in the final blend.
The wine is transferred to seasoned French oak to complete fermentation and mature on lees for 20 months. It is racked only at the final blending stage, and is not fined or filtered.
Ruby red, d'Arenberg The Athazagoraphobic Cat marries the fragrant, tannic characters of Sagrantino with Cinsault's generous red fruit flavours. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
