Wine
Cloudburst Malbec is grown in winemaker Will Berliner's biodynamic Margaret River vineyard in the remote south-west corner of Australia. The vineyard is a stone's throw from the Indian Ocean.
The vines are dry farmed. With deep down roots they find their own water. Very closely planted in short rows, the vigour of the entire plant is concentrated in a tiny space, resulting in a low volume of intensely flavoured fruit.
Handpicking prevents damage to the fruit, which is transported in small quantities to the winery. Wild ferments are used and intervention is as minimal as possible. The Malbec spends 18 months in oak.
Inky magenta, Cloudburst Malbec has dark red fruit flavours. Densely flavoured and deeply layered, texturally it is like biting into a crisp red apple. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
